At the crossroads of prayer and art, a holy conversation takes place between God and our hearts. For Roger Hutchison, this conversation has often happened around a table … a Painting Table. On Thursday, November 9, he will lead us in exploring our own stories of loss and joy … by painting them.
Roger is an author, a painter, and the Director of Christian Formation and Parish Life at Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church in Houston, TX. His remarkable talent has allowed him to present to many groups and churches around the country, including families and children affected by the mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
Roger will tell part of his own story, including how he came to be called to Newtown, and will also lead us through an individual and group painting table experience, opening us to new connections through prayer, our stories and paint. We will also have copies of his books on hand, include his new one coming out this fall: My Favorite Color is Blue … Sometimes.
Prayer, story sharing, painting, and the presence of God are just a few words to describe the event. Come ready to go where the Spirit leads us.
