Josie Pickens received both her BA and MA in English from Texas Southern University.  In addition to teaching in the Department of English at TSU, Ms. Pickens-Decatur is an activist, journalist, and cultural critic whose work focuses primarily on race and gender.  She writes regularly for Ebony Magazine, both print and digital editions.  Her essays have also been featured at The Atlantic, The Huffington Post, The Guardian, The Root, Mic News, and The Rumpus’.

Rabia Ilahi, MA, LMFT received her Master’s Degree from the University of Houston, Clear Lake, in Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy.  Originally from Pakistan, she moved with her family to the United States at the age of six.  After spending several years in the business world as a technical writer, marketing and corporate communication manager, she realized her true passion was being with people, learning about their lives, their thoughts, their relationshipos, and what made them unique yet with the same basic desires as herself and others.

Jillian “JJ” Simmonsis a radio/tv /host, speaker, author and creator of the movement, Respect My Crown.  Respect My Crown encourages women to deepen in spirituality, sisterhood, accountability and service.  Jillian is also the founder of JJ’s I’m Me Foundation that inspires teen girls to be the best version of themselves.  Simmons has authored three books, Without Bruises: A journey to Hope, Help and Healing, Respect My Crown: A 30-Day Affirmation Journal to Manifest Your Vision and her latest book All Falls Down: A Daily Study of Scripture to Lift You Up When Life Has Knocked You Down.

Danielle Fanfair is a rare native Houstonian and graduate of Baylor University. Danielle has worked for more than thirteen years as a spiritual teacher, strategic visionary and pastoral leader.  She is the creator of the curriculum Confusion to Clarity which helps learners grow in love and understanding of who they are and develop a compassionate understanding of others to unlock higher productivity, deeper creativity, and more success with intimate relationships. Danielle brings her passion for 360-degree wellness to her private practice and to the Hines Center where she serves as Executive Director.  She is a professional writer, a certified Enneagram Practitioner, a yogi who loves contemplative practice, meditation and mindfulness.  Danielle is a mom, a wife and a human being.
